*** “A Summer Spectacular!” – The Stage.
“Laugh out loud hilarious” and “genuinely exciting” – Exeunt.
We’re back! Our sell-out show Faustus returns for the final time with more fire, more fun and more dangerous stunt choreography we’ve nicked off Star Wars! Can our dear doctor save the world from the devilish magic of the King of England, or will he have too much fun travelling through time and space with wise-cracking demons to care? Join us this summer for From Below’s explosive remount of a classic tale with all the boring bits cut out and replaced with flamethrowers.
With fire magic and mayhem choreographed by Hull Dance Award winner Ed Grimoldby, and a text written by Sunday Times Playwright Award winner Josh Overton, Faustus wowed Hull audiences with its debut run in 2022 thanks to From Below’s unique combination of fire circus, sword fights and slapstick comedy.
Pay-What-You-Want. Our mission is to bring exciting theatre to anyone and everyone. As such we operate a pay-what-you-want policy in our home city of Hull. We want you to pay what you think is fair and affordable for a night of unforgettable theatre. From as little as £1 or as generous as you’d like to be, we believe price shouldn’t be a barrier to the arts.
This show is outdoors! Although in previous years the weather has been excellent, there’s always a chance it might get chilly, so do check before you leave home and bring a coat if necessary!
In case of rain. Sadly if it rains we can’t bring the fire out, (fire doesn’t like water, who knew?) but a more relaxed performance will still go ahead with a circus of lights and lasers replacing the fire. Safety is our priority but even with wet skies and floors we’ll still be able to delight and amaze.
The show begins at 7.30 and runs for 2 hours with a 25 minute interval, we’ll be all finished by 9.30 so everyone can get to bed on time. Even demons need their beauty sleep!
