Let’s Celebrate World Book Day!
Join us for a celebration of World Book Day with our free storytelling event, children's costume parade and more!
Are you ready for a Storytime session like no other? Look no further, because the hilarious duo 'Storytime with Hannah and Patrick' are here to take you on an unforgettable adventure!
Hannah and Patrick's special Storytime performance to celebrate World Book Day will feature "The Hotel for Bugs" by Suzy Senior, illustrated by Leire Martin, published by Little Tiger Books:
A joyously fun story about tolerance, embracing difference and speaking out against injustices...
Hannah and Patrick will also use engaging multimedia elements and interactive activities that will keep little (and big) readers fully engaged and entertained.
Hannah and Patrick began their journey by inspiring little readers online through their Podcast and YouTube Channel 'Storytime with Hannah and Patrick'.
Performance recommended for children 4+yrs.
Location: Space Pop Up on Pier Street (look for the brightly coloured building!)
World Book Day Costume Parade - Join us after the storytelling with a parade along Humber Street! Little one's are encouraged to wear outfits inspired by their favourite book characters, or to simply dress up and imagine they are whatever character they would like to be!
Everyone who takes part will receive a free Bookmark!
Whilst your little one's are feeling inspired to read, why not have a browse at our pop up Usborne Book stall. Or perhaps bring along unwanted books to our Book Swap area, and swap your books for a book of your choice! (we encourage both children and grown ups to bring books to swap!).
In the afternoon, why not join She Productions for a 1 hour interactive workshop, using music and drama to engage imagination and explore stories, characters and themes. We will focus on building confidence and developing communication to encourage everyone to read their own way
